On the date of September 26, 2025, the third annual pony puff took place, featuring outstanding performances from all grades involved in the contest.
Despite controversy in the event on whether boys should be allowed to compete in pony puff, the juniors and seniors joint team managed to beat the controversy to take home the win.
Pony Puff, a spin-off of Powder Puff which is a sport played by women or girls only, was not exclusively played by girls this year, as the juniors didn’t have enough sign-ups to compete otherwise. Many people’s opinions on the inclusion of boys in pony puffs differ.
Sophomore coach Charles Lynch (28) stated that he “wished that only girls were allowed to compete,” but he also expressed understanding of the position faced by the juniors.
One of the boys who played for the juniors, Milo Richtel (‘27), expressed how the juniors “absolutely destroyed everybody.”
The Juniors and Freshmen both advanced to the pony puff finals after beating the sophomores and seniors. To preserve the integrity of the game, Mr. Jacobsma made the choice to combine the junior and senior teams
The game was a defensive slugfest, but inevitably ended with the junior-senior class combined team coming out with a hard-fought victory.
