Today, September 26th, after Dawson fest, the high school classes will face off in a traditional powderpuff game nicknamed ‘pony puff’ by creator Kenna Scheer(‘26)
The tradition of powder puff was new to Dawson as of last year. A flag football game where the girls play and the boys cheer is a high school activity that happens almost everywhere. Kenna decided to bring school spirit to Dawson and nicknamed it “Pony Puff.” She said, “[she is] so glad [she] had the opportunity to turn it into a Dawson tradition that will last well beyond when [she graduates].”
Unfortunately, this year, Kenna will be out of the state.
“ I’m devastated about missing Pony Puff this year, but I know the event will still be incredible,” she said.
Kenna has partnered with Carley Slagel, Dawson’s Director of Development, to make Pony Puff a reality.
Kenna said, “Thank you to Ms. Slagel for backing me up and helping me bring Pony Puff to life.”
The high school is gearing up for an “epic battle of the classes,” says Luke Vanmiddlesworth(27), and Cassidy Carlson (‘29) thinks that the “seniors will probably win,” Kenna agrees, she says, “100% the seniors” are going to win this year
