Dawson’s Robotics team, ‘The Gears and Buccaneers”, attended the Broomfield Fair on September 21st. The Broomfield Fair is a great place to find sponsors and network with the community. Dawson School had a booth at the fair and requested the team to come and showcase their robot, Shanty. The representatives of the team were there from 8 AM to 12 PM, showcasing the capabilities of Shanty, such as picking up and shooting foam rings. Robotics team captain Aayush Ravulapati ’25 says “We had a lot of Middle schoolers, High Schoolers, and even adults asking many questions about our robot and the team. It was a success.” The event was extremely beneficial for the team and Dawson’s image. It is possible in the following years Gears and Buccaneers may expect to see new sponsorships and engagement with Dawson’s robotics program as a result of this event.
