With senior year wrapping up, the class of 2025 decided to end off with a longstanding tradition.
Senior assassin, also known as Senior Splashin’, is an activity where participants from the graduating class eliminate their peers with water guns. Players pay a fee of 20 dollars to play, their goal is to find their target, which they will then eliminate within the allocated days by spraying it with water.
In order to prevent getting eliminated, you must wear goggles above your head or floaties on your arm, eliminations do not count during school or sports to even the playing field for everyone. The length of each round is determined by the host, who in this case is Connor Earles.
Many people love the tradition of senior assassins, one participant, Natalie Korczak, says, “I think it’s super fun, definitely has drama. Lots of drama, but it’s been super fun for everybody.”
This year, the first person to get out during senior assassin was Caitlin Budaz-Kauflin. Even with the early elimination taking place on the first day of Senior Assassin, she came back with the hopes of winning.
Her hopes were quickly crushed after getting eliminated just before a tennis match. Since the elimination took place during a Dawson event, Caitlyn attempted to argue her elimination to no avail. After being overruled and officially eliminated, Caitlin says, “The rules are very unorganized and spontaneous; the rules should have been set to begin with.”
With many people teaming up to win, betrayals and conflicts occurring, this year’s senior assassin will be far from boring. Even with these setbacks and debates, the game continues with many more exciting eliminations waiting to occur.
