Behind the scenes of Dawson’s plays is best shown during the chaotic week of tech week. The week of November 8 is an important week for Dawson’s tech and acting students. It is none other than tech week for the upcoming play Thirteen Past Midnight, a murder mystery story. Tech week is a week-long period where they can go over all of the lighting, acting, and choreography details together almost like dress rehearsals. Ms. Bouer, one of the directors of the play thanked Sage Dining because they have been supplying the students with dinner all tech week, She also said ‘The play is going very well so far by Wednesday night we are hoping to have costumes and makeup, and microphones set for our rehearsal by 4:30″ Actors have been staying until 8:00 pm every night this entire week It’s a very critical time for the entire crew. Most of the time it’s a huge commitment and very busy backstage with the rushing and anxiety to perform well for the show this weekend. According to one of the freshman actors Isla Gushiken they are prepared well for the show “It’s going very well so far the only issues have been a couple of forgotten lines” she stated. Senior tech member Deven expressed his excitement for the upcoming play saying “It’s such a fun story and I can’t wait for it all to come together for our shows”. The outlook for this play is looking promising so far, a review of the play will follow in the coming weeks so stay posted.
